Anyone who has ever used a piece of equipment from CycleOps will confirm that this company really "gets it". What I mean by that is that you can tell they are run by cyclists that build products for cyclists and understand what is required to stand out from the crowd of "ho-hum" cycling products. The CycleOps Fluid Jet Pro bike trainer definitely did not fail to live up to the CycleOps trainer reputation. From the initial opening of the box to packing it back up to send to the next reviewer, my opinion was that this is a high quality bike trainer that will not disappoint.

The CycleOps is as functional as it looks and loading a bike into the CycleOps Fluid Jet Pro is a snap, the CurvePro series frame is solid and the cam levers and components are very high quality and will positively lock your bike into place. After swinging a leg over the saddle and putting this trainer through it's paces, I can say that it performed as well as I expected. CycleOps claims that their Fluid Jet Pro has a very realistic road feel period. I have to say I agree, very smooth and deliberate with excellent feedback and resistance both on acceleration and coast down definitely puts the CycleOps Fluid Jet Pro in the upper echelon of fluid bike trainers.

Being a Kurt Kinetic fan, I tried to find something wrong with this trainer but it was quiet, smooth, good feel, easy to load, rugged and stable so I couldn't really find anything not to like about it. I guess you can always say that the Fluid trainers are prone to leaking as you read that all over the internet but I've owned several over the years and have never had a single leak so I think that's a minor issue and wouldn't get in my way if I were considering purchasing this fluid bike trainer.

Who Should Buy the CycleOps Fluid Jet Pro Bike Trainer

As you can tell from above, I am a fan of the CycleOps series of trainers. I have yet to be disappointed with any CycleOps product that I have ever had any experience with and this trainer is no different. I would say it is a good choice for anyone in that it can handle about any range or class of rider and the only real consideration is the price. If you aren't afraid to invest a little bit of money into your trainer selection then the CycleOps Fluid Jet Pro will keep up with you mile after mile. It's a great all around choice that performs quite well at just about anything.

This bike trainer regularly sells for $429 dollars in bike shops but we've showcased a few online bargains that we've found to help save you money. Check out the CycleOps Fluid Jet Pro Bike trainer deals we found below.

Its cooler operating temperature delivers long-lasting performance and a stable progressive power curve with consistent resistance throughout the entire ride regardless of ride type.<td></tr></table>

CycleOps Fluid 2 bike trainer is an excellent piece of training equipment for all cyclists.

Avid cyclists will definitely recognize the Cycleops name as a very high quality brand in the cycling industry and the Cycleops Fluid 2 Bike trainer definitely lives up to that reputation. The Cycleops 2 Fluid trainer brings a lot to the table and utilizes an oversize flywheel to very closely emulate a road like feel that in our opinion, is one of the best on the market. This flywheel design brings an almost infinite resistance curve as well as integrated self-cooling mechanisms to keep your unit performing at top level over a longer period of time.
.

There isn't much that can substitute for outdoor, real world training rides but the Cycleops Fluid 2 trainer is one of those few bike trainers that make you not mind having to stay indoors somedays to get your workout in. It's silky smooth and brings an excellent road like feel to the table that will leave you wanting to extend your ride just a few more minutes every time you ride it. The power will vary depending on your cadence, speed and the gear that you are in but it should comfort you knowing that the Cycleops Fluid 2 bike trainer is capable of generating a power band that ranges from as little as 20 watts all the way up to a mind blowing 720 watts which will put you through your paces in a hurry.

Who Should Buy the CycleOps Fluid 2 Trainer

The CycleOps Fluid 2 trainer is ideally suited for the rider who expects a lot out of their trainer and intends to take their fitness and conditioning to the next level during the winter months. The power bands and design of the Cycleops Fluid 2 trainer will allow you to work yourself out at a variety of levels that will range from a long slow distance type workout to build your base all the way up to the out of the seat sprints that demand maximum power! The CycleOps 2 Fluid trainer is an excellent quality piece of equipment that would serve most cyclists very well for their bike trainer needs.

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr><td><img src="http://biketrainerreviews.com/images/B000BT7HWY/31FJF46A45L._SL75_.jpg" /><td></tr><tr><td>The Fluid2 delivers the best-in-class performance that pro cyclists worldwide demand. There's nothing like training in the real world. But when you can't get outside, it's good to know you've got the Fluid inside. Because our engineers went to great lengths to design and build a trainer that captures the feeling of riding in the real world. Minus the potholes and crosswinds.<td></tr></table>

The Blackburn Trakstand Fluid Trainer is a rugged and solidly constructed bicycle trainer that comes fully assembled out of the box which is nice. The Blackburn Trakstand is NOT designed for the avid or pro cyclist that demands the best out of their equipment but rather it is intended to be an affordable entry into the wildly competitive and popular fluid trainer category that won't break your wallet. Setting up the bike on the Blackburn Trakstand fluid trainer is very much a straightforward operation and as with most bike trainers, you have to set adjusting knobs to match the width of the rear triangle of your bike and then lock it into place.

After logging a few miles on the Blackburn fluid trainer I noticed that the flywheel was a bit louder than some of the other fluid trainers that I've used and the true road feel was a questionable affair. Don't get me wrong, it was not unnervingly loud and nor was the ride horrible, but it is a bit louder than some trainers. Now that said, the Blackburn Trakstand will still provide a quality workout at a very affordable price. The only true flaw that I noted was that the tensioner sometimes loosen up from the vibration of the flywheel. Over the course of a 30 minute ride, I had to tighten the tensioner twice. My unit might have been an anomaly and a zip-tie in the right place cured the issue altogether so again, not a deal breaker.

Who Should Buy the Kurt Kinetic Pro Trainer

The Blackburn Trackstand Fluid Trainer is a capable mid-level trainer that is targeted at the occasional cyclist who wants an economical trainer that will see occasional use. If you are going to log big miles or really put a hammering workout onto this trainer on a regular basis then I would skip this pick and spend a few more dollars. If you are looking for an occasional use trainer that is simple to operate, maintain and will provide a competent workout, then the Blackburn Trakstand fluid bike trainer is a good choice.

<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr><td><img src="http://biketrainerreviews.com/images/B000BNTY3K/51YKfAbgNoL._SL75_.jpg" /><td></tr><tr><td>The Blackburn Fluid is smooth, silent and progressive, with a resistance curve that accurately replicates the feel of hills, headwinds and hard efforts on the road<td></tr></table>

Kinetic Pro Review

~This review provided by Best Mountain Bikes Online.

Brrrrrrr.... when the weather turns cold and frosty outside and you start running out of daylight, then it's time to start thinking about how you are going to keep your deeply chiseled glutes and quads from turning into marshmellow from inactivity. As I write this, it's cold outside, in fact it's so cold that my driveway is coated in ice and it's the kind of air that hurts if you take too deep of a breath.

I would love to go for a ride but my hatred of frigid cold outweighs my love of riding and combine that with ice and road bike tire and you can see why I am staying home. I recently upgraded my bicycle trainer and I wanted to share my thoughts.....let me introduce you to my little friend, the Kurt Kinetic Pro trainer.

Bike Trainers - Evil or Great

My experience with bicycle trainers has ebbed and flowed over the years, I have tried on a number of occasions to fall in love with riding a trainer but to date I have not succeeded. I have even been desperate enough to try attending a "trainer ride" at my local bike shop where all of the roadies meet in the evening and ride the trainer, longing for warm weather and daylight. While the social aspect was fun, it was still a chore and I had always been using a cheap trainer. Because I hated it, I never invested any money into a more expensive trainer as I didn't see the point.

One of my riding buddies raved about how good his trainer was but I ignored him for the most part until one day I decided to ride his bright green love machine. What's this you say.....could it be....yes it could be. This bike trainer was an entirely different animal right from the start and I knew that I had just passed one of those milestones in life where you get a lot smarter than you were a few minutes ago. Not all trainers have to stink, just the cheap POS trainers that I had been riding had stunk.

So I wasted no time in slapping down some coin for a Kurt Kinetic Pro Trainer and getting to work. I'd been loafing on my other trainer and I had work to do. The Kurt Kinetic Pro trainer is STILL a trainer, sure, but I find myself willing to ride it for longer periods of time and working harder because I felt good about my trainer choice. I believed that it was working better and therefore put in more time in the saddle.

Kurt Kinetic Pro Riding Impressions

What's cool about the Kurt Kinetic pro is that it feels like you are really riding on the road. The design of the flywheel is very smooth and it provides similar feedback as a real bike. It powers up to speed like a real bike AND what I didn't realize I was missing on other trainers is that the Kinetic Pro design features a long slow coast down without scrubbing speed. When you ride on the road, you pedal pedal pedal and then coast to recover. Many trainers scrub speed so quickly that you almost stop the trainer and then to get back up to speed, you need to power it up again. This is not realistic NOR is it conducive to training your muscles to road riding.

The Kurt Kinetic Pro generates MUCH less noise and is far quieter than the Mag trainer I was riding and was equally as quiet as any of the fluid trainers present on "trainer night" at the bike shop. A techie (nerd) friend of mine explained that the Kurt Kinetic design is such that it will not leak as many other fluid trainers are known for as well. No leaks, quiet, real road feel.....so far so good.

One of the really cool features of the Kurt Kinetic Pro model is that the ride is interchangeable. It comes with an additional 12lb flywheel that you can install on the trainer and you can train the long hard stroke that is required when climbing or sprinting. Men and boys are seperated on the hills and the Kinetic Pro will transform your cycling game if you put the time in.

The dull and boring stuff about the Kurt Pro trainer is something I will also address. It is a big and solid trainer that is very heavy. It's much more stable than some trainers I have been on but it's also heavier than many trainers I have been on. If you are going to be moving your trainer around a lot then you want to take your vitamins but most sit stationary in a workout room somewhere. I am exaggerating a little bit of course, it's quite mobile actually but it is a heavy trainer. I am a Clydesdale so when I go out of the saddle and put the hammer down, most trainers will flex and sway, not the Kurt. Rock solid.

Loading a bike into the Kurt Kinetic Pro is simple and it works well. The only beef I have is that the knob for the tension wheel to put tension on the rear tire is a little small for my taste but if that's all I have to complain about then I guess Kurt is doing ok.

Kurt Kinetic Pro Trainer Review Summary

So after all is said and done, I am extremely pleased with the Kurt Kinetic Pro bike trainer. It was more expensive than the last bike trainer I was riding but it was worth every nickel. If you are looking to maximize your training time and you don't mind spending a little bit of money to get something nice then the Kurt Kinetic Pro Trainer is a great choice for most cyclists.

Thumbs up to Kurt Kinetic for making an awesome bike trainer.
